The League against Cancer and the City of Bordeaux are organizing on Tuesday June 15, at 8 p.m., a concert at the La Pergola theater, the profits of which will be entirely donated to the League against cancer of Gironde. On the scene, the Crossings duo, Myriam Darmé (flute) and Maia Darmé (harp), international soloists, will invite the audience on a commented journey through centuries, continents and musical styles.
Surrounded by four harps and 22 different flutes, the duo will take the spectators on board on musical journeys from the traditional repertoire of different countries to contemporary music, including masterpieces of classical music. Throughout the songs, the musicians will present little-known aspects of their instruments, musical genres and historical context, not to mention all kinds of anecdotes about the composers.
Exchanges and discoveries
The concert will be followed by a moment of exchange during which the curious will be able to approach the instruments more closely, and meet the musicians who will answer questions in an informal setting.
Both Myriam and Maïa Darmé have received a classical education and are pursuing rich individual careers. Myriam Darmé, flautist from Lorraine now established in Gironde, is a particularly active teacher in the region and author of numerous publications for her instrument. Maïa Darmé performs as a soloist on all continents and navigates with ease between old harps and electric harps.
Sharing the same passion for arrangement, they formed the flute and harp duo Traversées to bring a new light to the repertoire of their instruments by offering concerts that go off the beaten track.
Entrance 12 euros; reduced 6 euros; free for children under 12, tickets on sale on site or online at helloasso.com (Crossings Package) Information and reservation: 06 14 02 66 10. La Pergola theater, rue Fernand-Cazères, in Bordeaux-Caudéran.
