In June every year it is held official celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s (96) birthday in the UK. The celebration – which goes by the name Trooping The Color – kicks off the second weekend in June and tends to gather hordes of people in the streets of London.

This year, the British also marked that the monarch has been on the throne for 70 years.
Last week, therefore, the queen appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. As the only family member by her side, she had Edward, Duke of Kent (86), who is now going viral on social media.

The queen appeared on the balcony on Thursday with the Duke of Kent, who was dressed in military uniform.
It marked the first time the Queen attended Trooping The Color from the balcony since her husband, Prince Philip, died last year. He turned 99 years old.

A number of people have also noticed that part of Edward’s ear is missing. It is not known what the cause of the missing ear piece is.

according to People is the 86-year-old Duke the Queen’s cousin, through their fathers Prince George, Duke of Kent and King George, who were brothers. Prince Edward’s mother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, was also a cousin of the monarch’s late husband, Prince Philip.
Prince Edward became Duke of Kent when he was seven years old.
