The Duartes: history
The group was born back in 2007 with the idea of expressing the compositions, the way of playing and the typical orchestration of Argentine folklore as it is experienced in northern Córdoba.
Originally from Villa María de Río Seco, over the years they have built up an inescapable reference point on the national scene, taking their music to major Argentine festivals such as Cosquín, Jesús María, La Salamanca, La Banda Santiago del Estero, Colectividades de Altagracia, El Artesano, Ojo de Agua de Santiago del Estero; just to name a few.
Throughout its career the group has released two studio albums: Creole Music y I am from the North of CordobaThe group is currently recording their new album live, which will be called Coplas del Norte.
Since their beginnings, Los Duarte have proposed on stage an encounter with the traditional instruments of our folklore: guitar, bass drum, quena, violin and piano, thus forming a small Creole orchestra, recalling great classics of Argentine music.
In their repertoire, you can appreciate a wide musical journey that covers different rhythms: chacareras, gatos, bailecitos, zambas, chamamé, carnavalitos and tarantella, also giving rise to Argentine dance as the main element of the show.
