The flagship of the independent French brand DS is expanding the range of engines with a new version of the plug-in hybrid. It will please especially the commute.

The plug-in hybrid drive is not for the model DS 9 a novelty, from the beginning, in addition to the four-cylinder petrol sixteen, we also offer two variants for the socket – E-Tense 225 and E-Tense 360, while the number indicates the system performance in horses. While in the first version the drive rotates exclusively the front wheels, the second is an ATV.
Now the E-Tense 250 with front-wheel drive expands the range of plug-in hybrids. This is a kind of intermediate stage between the electrified versions, as evidenced by the table with Czech prices attached below. The novelty is available in Performance Line (CZK 1,575,000) and Rivoli (CZK 1,675,000) equipment, while in both cases it is CZK 50,000 more expensive than the basic plug-in hybrid.

The heart of the drive is a supercharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine tuned to 147 kW (200 hp) and 300 newton meters of torque. It is assisted by an electric motor with an output of 81 kW and a twist of 320 Nm, while the combined values promise 250 horsepower and 360 newton meters. The car moves from standstill to a hundred in 8.1 seconds and can continue at 240 km / h.

The key advantage of the novelty is especially the larger battery with a capacity of 15.6 kWh (other plug-in hybrids have “only” 11.9 kWh). According to the manufacturer, it will suffice for a range of 61 kilometers in the combined cycle (WLTP), or up to 70 kilometers in the city cycle. CO emissions2 they have a table value of 26 g / km, so the car – like its siblings – will achieve “electric” license plates and the associated benefits in the Czech Republic.
Let us remind you that the basic equipment of the Performance Line receives, for example, a keyless entry, six airbags, cruise control, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a parking camera, a multimedia system with navigation or a digital instrument panel. There is also upholstery combining leather and Alcantar, electrically operated front seats with heating and driver’s memory, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, adaptive LED lights or 19 “alloy wheels.

The second stage, called Rivoli, is CZK 100,000 more expensive and expands the standard equipment with active lane keeping, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, a 360-degree parking camera or leather upholstery. Also included are ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and an active DS Scan Suspension chassis.
If even that is not enough for someone, they can reach for a special package for CZK 150,000. It includes Nappa leather upholstery, a passenger seat release button accessible from the rear seats or a sunroof with an electrically operated sun visor. You can also pay extra for night vision (+40,000 CZK for the Rivoli version), heated windshield (+6,000 CZK) or the Focal Electra music system with 14 speakers and a 515 W subwoofer (+40,000 CZK).
