The control “blue” coupon to the driver’s license, which drivers were obliged to present if they were stopped by the traffic police on the road, is going down in history.
This becomes a fact after today in State Gazette the changes to the Penal Code were promulgated, with which, in the transitional and final provisions, changes are also made to the Road Traffic Act.
These changes remove the obligation for drivers to carry the blue control card together with the motor vehicle driver’s license.
Instead of paper documents, checkpoints for reporting traffic violations will only be reflected in the national register for drivers electronically.
The change was one of the reforms that Bozhidar Bojanov worked for as e-government minister in Kiril Petkov’s office. It was introduced only at the end of July 2023 by the current National Assembly.
The law enters into force three days after its promulgation. This means that from Monday – August 7, all blue coupons are cancelled.
“Democratic Bulgaria” noted the news by publishing a call on social networks “Tear up the blue coupon! You no longer need it.”
