1/2 The van collides with the tanker and catches fire
A delivery van driver died Tuesday morning after colliding with an oil tanker off the A16 near Moerdijk. The impact ignited the van.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:00. The emergency services were full. An air ambulance also intervened. So, to no avail, the driver died after the accident.
Due to the accident, the A16 is closed from the Zonzeel junction towards Rotterdam. Traffic is diverted via the A58, A27 and A15. According to the ANWB, you should definitely allow for a delay of over an hour.
Police are investigating how the accident may have occurred.
