The professional details of the project, which is of great importance in the life of the affected settlements, were presented at a press conference in Vác by László Virág, CEO of DMRV Zrt., and Balázs Szabó, project manager of the contractor Mészáros és Mészáros Zrt.

“DMRV Zrt., as the dominant service provider in the region, pays special attention to the fulfillment of the stricter domestic and EU environmental protection regulations when implementing its development objectives. In addition, he keeps in mind the implementation of a quality service that meets the needs and expectations of consumers, the population and local governments,” the CEO stated at the press conference, which was attended by the mayors of several settlements.

László Virág highlighted: Their company has successfully applied for EU funds several times in previous years, from which they have financed numerous public utility investments.

“Developments for environmental protection – he continued – contribute to ensuring that DMRV Zrt., in addition to serving consumers, ensures the expectations of environmental sustainability, the protection of water quality, the utilization of sewage sludge, and the full use of renewable energy. May 15, 2023 the managing authority raised it to HUF 16.897 billion due to last year’s drought, which justified a new “Development of Solymár’s Csúcsidei water supply, construction of a new express pipeline” adding a named project element to the project. Thanks to the development, they will be able to maintain security of supply in the Pilisvörösvár sub-region even in the event of similar weather conditions in the future.

Within the framework of the project, the drinking water utilities of a total of 20 settlements on the right and left banks of the Danube will be developed, and the reconstruction of the drinking water trunk network will be implemented, expected by the end of September 2024.

CEO László Virág spoke about the three main objectives of the project. (X. 25.) to the conditions laid down in government decree. Furthermore, efficient operation and economic operation should be realized. In addition to energy efficiency, aspects of climate protection should also apply. As stated, the technical developments will be implemented in the following settlements: Fót, Mogyoród, Csömör, Szentendre, Pomáz, Budakalász, Üröm, Solymár, Dömös, Dunakeszi, Gödöllő, Őrbottyán, Csomád, Pilismarót, Szada, Szentendre, Leányfalu, Tahitófalu, Vác, Solymár .

László Virág explained: the technical condition of the water utility system will improve in the area of the planned investment, as a result of which water losses will decrease, and there will be a positive change in the hydraulic conditions. Thanks to the improvements, a higher level of service can be expected in addition to lower energy consumption.

The CEO of DMRV Zrt. announced that more than 35,780 meters of drinking water pipes will be built during the implementation of the project. Eight drinking water storage pools with a total capacity of 3,700 m3 are being built. 554 house connections have been completed, 49 fire hydrants, a 500 cubic meter water tower are being built in Dunakesz, three new wells are being built and three old wells are being renovated. In addition, a water treatment capacity of 158 m3/hour will be created twice and 49 pumps will be replaced.

Balázs Szabó, the project manager of the contractor Mészáros és Mészáros Zrt., presented the development in all twenty settlements in professional detail.

László Vécsey, the government parliamentary representative of the Gödöllő region – on behalf of four of his fellow parliamentary representatives – spoke with appreciation about the activities of DMRV Zrt. and its legal predecessors, which have been providing drinking water in the region since 1928. As he put it: technical development mostly affects the Budapest agglomeration, which has outgrown itself in the last thirty years. The population of the settlements has doubled or tripled many times, which results in the lack of various public utility capacities. It was last year’s drought period that shed light on how directly and how seriously the lack of drinking water affects the population. In conclusion, he congratulated the development and expressed his hope that “thanks to these developments, this year’s drought will be felt less by the population.”
