We have dealt with the matter. We asked Koleje Wielkopolskie and the office of the Marshal of the Wielkopolska region about the worrying situation and whether it will be possible to change it.
“We assure you that the integrity of the trains on all the lines we serve is constantly monitored – in the event of repeated overfilling of a particular train, the possibilities for upgrading the trains are analyzed together with the transport organizer, the Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska region. The company appreciates all the comments of passengers, which are taken into account in the planning of the timetable and in the increase of the transport capacity on the lines that enjoy high frequency“- we are informed by Koleje Wielkopolskie.
“We point out that we have a limited number of vehicles and all are subject to continuous use. In this situation, the possibilities for upgrading the trains are limited. We strive to ensure that connections have cyclical departures and allow passengers to travel to / from Poznań Gł station as frequently as possible“- they add.
Representatives of Koleje Wielkopolskie also inform that they already have 49 electric vehicles available, at the same time they recognize the growing needs and make sure they do not remain idle. “Self-government of the Wielkopolska region, wanting to keep the standard of rail transport at a very high level, invests in modern, comfortable and spacious trains. At the end of 2020, two new five-unit 48WEB vehicles joined our fleet. These vehicles have 246 seats and in total can accommodate 536 passengers at a time. A tender is currently underway for a further 4 electric five-unit multiple units and its decision will be made on 23 September“- they finish.
“Due to the modernization works of the Pobiedziska-Pierzyska line carried out by the infrastructure manager of PKP PLK SA, the capacity of the railway line no. by a couple served by Koleje Wielkopolskie during the morning communication run. .
