/ world today news/ At the beginning of next week, the name of the new executive director of the State Fund “Zemedeli” will be announced, “Press” reports, citing informed sources.
Despite the shuttles being made by the suspended Miroslav Nikolov and Violeta Alexandrova (until recently head and deputy head of the fund), it is out of the question that they will be returned again, Agriculture Minister Dimitar Grekov told the daily.
In Nikolov’s office there are nearly 2,500 contracts for approved projects for over BGN 300 million. He was supposed to sign the documents by June 30, but for inexplicable reasons he did not. Now the representatives of the agrarian department will check what information has been submitted to the Integrated Administration and Control System (ISAK) in recent days.
If Nikolov hoped that he would remain in office until the government leaves because he is obliged to list the contracts, he was wrong, experts explained. The documents will be able to be initialed by the new director, and the deadline was extended until the end of the year.
The delayed signing of projects for such a large sum could, however, be used by the prosecution if it considers that it was done on purpose.
