DPRR accept an honorable discharge General Andika Mighty how TNI Commander. The approval for the dismissal of General Andika was communicated today in the 12th plenary assembly of the second probationary period for the 2022-2023 session.
The plenary meeting was held at Nusantara II, the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (13/12/2022). The meeting was chaired by DPR chairman Puan Maharani. Other leaders were also present, namely DPR Deputy Chairman Rachmat Gobel, Lodewijk F Paulus and Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.
The chairman of Commission I of the DPR, Meutya Hafid, initially presented a report regarding the mechanism process for the TNI commander candidate, including the implementation of a fit and proper test on Admiral Yudo Margono.
“Following the assignment, Commission I, through an internal Commission I meeting on December 1, 2022, agreed to effect the approval of the dismissal and appointment of TNI Commander on December 2, 2022. We report that in following up on the assignment, Commission I held a meeting on December 2,” Meutya said in the report.
Meutya said Commission I of the DPR approved the sacking of TNI commander general Andika in the meeting’s decision. Aside from that, Commission I of the DPR also decided that Admiral Yudo was a candidate for commander of the TNI.
“After hearing and considering the views of the factions and members of the RI DPR Commission I on the candidate commander-in-chief in accordance with the provisions of the RI DPR regulation on the order, the RI DPR Commission I has decided on the item I, I accept the honorable dismissal of TNI General Andika Perkasa, SE., MA., MSc. as commander of the TNI and I appreciate his dedication in leading the TNI to be more advanced and professional,” Meutya said.
DPR Chairman Puan Maharani then asked the plenary meeting whether the DPR I RI Commission report could be approved. The DPR decided to honorably dismiss General Andika Perkasa and Admiral Yudo to become the commander of the TNI.
“Now let us ask the honorable session, whether the report of Commission I of the DPR on the results of due diligence, test of fit and proper, of the candidate for commander of the TNI regarding the honorable discharge of General Andika Perkasa SE., MA. , MSc from the position of commander of the TNI, and the approval to determine the appointment of Admiral Yudo Margono SE., MM as commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, can it be approved?” DPR spokesman Puan Maharani said.
“Okay,” said the plenary session participants.
