The Bundesliga has been playing at the highest level in terms of spectator popularity in global football for years. For the 2024/25 season, fans at the 18 clubs ensured an unbridled season ticket boom. But the rush for season tickets could be a “serious warning signal”, as Dominik Schreyer, Professor of Sports Economics at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, explains in an interview.

Mr Schreyer, the Bundesliga must not only make further Spectator departures towards the 2nd Bundesliga but will most likely also win the title of the league with the most spectators to the Premier League. Does the German Football League have to worry about ticket demand in the top division?
