Jonatan Medart from Ghent suddenly became known in the middle of the corona pandemic for his hilarious content on social media. After TV projects such as ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘The Worst Rated Show’, Medart is recognized daily on the streets and at the festivals. On the one hand, this all seems fantastic, but in his most recent video he talks to his followers in a very honest way: “I sound so pathetic, but I really want to be honest,” it sounds.

Medart talks about the busy festival summer and the effect that all his projects have on his relationships with friends and Seppe, are sweet. The two have been together for about seven months, but he kept that relationship a secret from the press. “Another disadvantage of being famous”, the video says. He also denounces people who secretly take pictures of him while he is just as easy to reach: “I am not a monkey in a cage, but some people make me feel that way”.
Medart is also clear about his friends: due to his busy work schedule, he increasingly feels that he is losing friends. He often sees them at festivals, but very fleetingly. “I’m really a quality time person and want to see my friends one-on-one, not so fleetingly at a festival. I get the feeling that some friends don’t invite me to parties and events anymore, simply because I can’t. And that hurts”.
He concludes the video with the statement “Yes, there is a downside to being an influencer”, a wise lesson for anyone who thinks that the life of an influencer is always roses.
