According to the first releases of the new season, in training and in matches, Romelu Lukaku seems to have already “forgotten” Antonio Conte.
The Belgian center forward, returned from vacation after the bitter experience a Euro 2020, which ended in the round of 16 againstItaly, had established a very close relationship with the Salento coach, who had specifically asked the club immediately after landing on the Nerazzurri bench, esteeming Lukaku already from the time of the common experience in England, with Conte at Chelsea e Big Rom al Manchester United.
So Conte’s decision to leave Inter after winning the Scudetto had negatively affected the striker, who, however, was also immediately linked with Simone Inzaghi and who does not seem to have any intention of leaving Milan and Serie A.
These are also the plans of Inter, which considers Lukaku the only one, true non-transferable of the squad even in the face of any super offers. A privileged position also compared to his “goal twin” Lautaro Martinez which instead, also thanks to the renewal not yet signed, could start in the face of “indecent” proposals.
Too bad that the latter risk arriving for Lukaku himself.
Romelu is in fact back heavily in the plans of the same Chelsea. President Roman Abramovich and his right-hand man Marina Granovskaia want to do everything to bring the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge, seven years after his transfer to Everton.
Despite the Champions League just won, Chelsea want to reinforce their attack, a department that in the last season saw the disappointing Timo Werner in the role of center forward.
Hence, as reported by ‘The Athletic’, the assault brought to the management of theInter, with even two offers for Lukaku, considered the first choice after Borussia Dortmund closed the door, at least this year, for Erling Haaland.
Offers whose consistency is not known for the moment. It is easy to imagine that Inter rejected the first one or that the Blues formulated a double option, a sign of the desire to put Lukaku at Tuchel’s disposal.
The player’s will is clear, as is the company’s need to raise cash after the sale of Achraf Hakimi to the Psg. Simone Inzaghi, however, still waiting for reinforcements, does not even want to consider the possibility of giving up the team pivot twenty days before the start of the championship.
