The double music church will host the organ music festival “Vox Angelica”

After a year break Dubulti ev. lut. The thirteenth international organ music festival “Vox angelica” will take place in the church. The concerts of the festival will take place on Sundays from July 18 to September 12, starting at 18.00.

With the concert “In the Light of Hope” the festival will open on July 18, it will be symbolically sung by the younger generation of organists – graduates of Jurmala Music High School, who have proven themselves this year by winning prizes in international “online” competitions and participating in live video concerts. . Young organists Sandra Baldiņa, Katrīna Štālmane and Pāvels Ceļikovs will take part in the concert, soloist, violinist of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra Liene Neija-Kalniņa will play with them.

During the festival, nine concerts are planned this summer, in which Latvian organists Kristīne Adamaite, Edīte Alpe, Aigars Reinis will play together with soloists – instrumentalists and singers, and in one of the concerts Roberts Hansons will play the organ and harpsichord. The festival will be attended by Ligita Sneibe, a Latvian organist living in Sweden, and Douglas Brewus, an English organist from Germany. Many well-known musicians will take part in the concerts: flutists Dita Krenberga and Ilze Urbāne, saxophonists Artis Sīmanis and Aigars Raumanis, harpist Ieva Šablovska, percussionists Elīna Endzele and Ernests Mediņš, Latvian singers Laura Grecka, Ilona Bagele, Dainis

During the concert, a video projection on the screen will allow everyone present in the hall to watch a close-up of the organist and other musicians on the balcony, which will bring the musicians closer to the listeners.

The municipality points out that the concerts will take place in accordance with the epidemiological requirements set by the state, when attending concerts in person, the EU Digital Green Certificate and identity document must be presented. Admission to the festival concerts is free. Children under the age of 12, as well as anyone who does not have a certificate, are invited to watch the concerts live on video and later – on the recording “YouTube” on the channel “Jurmala LIVE”.
