The Dominican Republic will receive visitors from Israel, Qatar, Turkey and the Emirates A.

Santo Domingo, Apr 21 (EFE).- The Dominican Republic will be able to receive passengers from non-traditional issuing countries such as Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Turkey under an agreement that allows code-share flight operations between Iberia and Air Europa companies and others that do not operate flights to the country.

CODESHARE AGREEMENTS

The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) reported this Thursday in a statement that it approved the new operations that will allow passengers of the aforementioned origins to be attracted to Dominican soil under these agreements established between the two Spanish airlines with the companies El Al Israel Airlines Qatar Airways , Etihad Airways and Turkish Airlines.

Codeshare agreements are alliances signed by two airlines to jointly operate routes and sell seats on a flight operated by a single company.

This agreement will allow passengers from Tel Aviv through El Al Israel Airlines to use Iberia’s services on the Madrid-Santo Domingo route until October 29.

Likewise, the JAC gave its approval to the operations between Iberia and Qatar Airways to carry out flights from Madrid in the summer, which would transport passengers from the United Arab Emirates to the country, after their stopover in Spain.

The agency approved similar operations between Air Europa and the Emirati Etihad Airways for the Madrid-Santo Domingo route, also until October 29.

In that same order, Turkish Airlines and Air Europa will operate the Madrid-Santo Domingo route, which will allow passengers from Istanbul, Turkey, to land in the Dominican capital until the same date.

With these new operations, the Dominican Republic allows several airlines to have a presence on routes where traffic volumes do not justify individual operations, the JAC said in the statement. EFE
