The price of the dollar rose against the pound during the past week’s trading, for the first time after it settled for 8 consecutive weeks, as the sterling, the euro and the Kuwaiti dinar increased.
The price of the dollar in the National Bank of Egypt rose 11 piasters, to record yesterday 15.79 pounds for purchase and 15.89 pounds for sale, compared to 15.68 pounds for purchase and 15.78 pounds for sale last Thursday.
The euro rose against the pound, to record yesterday, 17.19 pounds for purchase, 17.41 pounds for sale, compared to 16.90 pounds for purchase and 17.08 pounds for sale last Thursday, according to National Bank data.
The price of the British pound increased to record yesterday 19.21 pounds for purchase and 19.45 pounds for sale, compared to 19.08 pounds for purchase and 19.32 pounds for sale last Thursday.
The Kuwaiti dinar rose to 49.91 pounds for purchase yesterday, 51.44 pounds for sale, compared to 49.47 pounds for purchase and 51.08 pounds.
The price of the Saudi riyal increased by 3 piasters, to record 4.13 pounds for purchase, and settled at 4.23 pounds for sale.
The price of the UAE dirham settled at 4.25 pounds for purchase and 4.30 pounds for sale, and the Qatari riyal increased 3 piasters to record 4.15 pounds for purchase and 4.36 pounds for sale.
