The Los Angeles Dodgers gave a coup of authority at Yankee Stadium by beating the New York Yankees 4-2 in the Game 3 of the 2024 World Series. The victory, which puts the Los Angeles team one more victory away from lifting the Commissioner’s Trophy, went to starter Walker Buehler and the loss was awarded to Clarke Schmidt.
Freddie Freeman started game 3 with fireworks in someone else’s house. The Yankees infielder hit a two-run home run, after a walk to Shohei Ohtani, to open the scoring. Freeman’s streak is incredible as he has hit home runs in five consecutive World Series games; since the last two in which he lifted the Commissioner’s Trophy in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves.
The ninth Angelina increased her advantage in the third roll thanks to a Mookie Betts single that sent Tommy Edman ringing. The bases were loaded and Clarke Schmidt’s start ended, but Mark Leiter Jr. managed to prevent any more runs in the inning.
Kiké Hernández was in charge of adding the fourth race of the Los Angeles organization with a hit in the sixth inning. Gavin Lux was at second base after stealing second base on a hit ball courtesy of reliever Jake Cousins.

Alex Verdugo prevents the shutout with a home run
The Dodgers pitchers excelled to shut out the Yankees for eight innings in Game 3 of the World Series. Starter Walker Buehler pitched four complete innings, allowing two hits and walking two, but struck out five of the 18 batters he faced. Dave Roberts sent Brusdar Graterol, Alex Vesia, Daniel Hudson, Anthony Banda and Ryan Brasier to the mound to divide the work from the sixth to the eighth inning.
However, Michael Kopech was chosen as the closer and Alex Verdugo answered with a two-run homer when the game seemed to end with two outs against him. The player of Mexican descent found a low fastball from the reliever and took it through right field to make the score 4-2. Unfortunately, the game ended when Torres hit a soft infield grounder and Edman assisted Freeman for the 27th out.
When is Game 4 of the World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers?
Game four of the World Series, and possibly the last, between the Dodgers and the Yankees, will be played tomorrow at 8:08 p.m. ET (7:08 p.m. CT and 5:08 p.m. PT) at Yankee Stadium. The Angelenos have not yet defined a starter, but the locals will bet on Luis Gil’s serpentine.
