The Doctors ’Union Council decided to refer 5 doctors from the administrative leaderships in the Directorate of Health Affairs in Menia and the Ministry of Health to the investigation committee, against the background of the accident, which caused the death of 3 female doctors and the injury of 12 others.
After the meeting ended, the council members affirmed that those referred for investigation are: the director of the Abu Qurqas administration in Minya, the director of the Samalout administration in Minya, the director of the Minya medical department and the acting director of the Ministry of Health in Minya, and the assistant minister for initiatives affairs.
A press statement of the union said that summonses are being sent to all of them to appear before the union’s investigation authority, within the framework of our responsibility to restore the right of our martyrs and injured young doctors in the Minya incident, and in implementation of the decisions of the General Union of Doctors. It is worth noting that the penalties may reach delisting from the records of the Medical Association.
