Immediately after receiving the signal about the serious accident on Cherni Vrah Blvd. in Sofia, 4 ambulances went to the scene of the accident. The first one arrives at the 4th minute. The 25-year-old doctor Yoanna Minkova is in it. According to her, the taxi driver, who was also injured during the accident, miraculously survived, and there was no chance for the two girls.

“Details were not known. It was known that there were bodies, parts of bodies, it was not known how many victims there were,” Dr. Joanna Minkova from the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance told BTV. The first team that goes to the place is that of Dr. Joanna Minkova. It was she who helped the sole survivor.
“He was a taxi driver, he survived, thank God, with minimal injuries, it was like a miracle because half of his car was taken away,” explained Dr. Minkova.
And found the death of the two girls.
“Girls were 50 meters away from each other. They had died on the spot, both with life-threatening injuries. They had no chance to react or understand what would happen to them in 2-3 seconds,” the doctor recalls.
During this time, more teams are going to the incident. Footage from the video recorders in the ambulances shows that less than 10 minutes after the incident, several ambulances, the police and the fire department are already on the scene. Everyone stays up late to search for any more victims.
“In such high-speed accidents, very often the victims’ bodies can be much further away from the scene,” said Dr. Mincheva.
So far, this accident is the worst in the still not long career of the 25-year-old doctor Minkova.
Since the beginning of the year, 807 reports of accidents have been received in Sofia Emergency Services, with 26 reports in the first three days of this week alone.
