A virologist has reported the dangerous effects of coronavirus on the human body. In particular, COVID-19 can trigger the development of strokes and heart attacks.
Coronavirus does great damage to the human immune system. This disease leads to somatic pathology.
According to the newspaper Vechernyaya Moskva, a virologist scientist, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Felix Ershov, elderly people are at risk for coronavirus infection. The expert emphasized that strokes and heart attacks may occur as a complication of coronavirus infection in older people. In addition, patients are threatened with the development of bronchitis, meningitis and other dangerous diseases.
The virologist added that the main cause of death from coronavirus is often not COVID-19 itself, but the pathology resulting from the defeat of the virus. Earlier, Russian virologists found that coronavirus destroys brain tissue.
