The doctor from Pantelimon Hospital who wanted to give drugs only to “deserving” patients was suspended from office

The head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at the Pantelimon Hospital in Bucharest, Laura Constantinescu, was suspended after a recording appeared in the press in which she explained to her colleagues that only patients who “deserve” should receive medication.

Laura Constantinescu, but also the head nurse from Sfantul Pantelimon, who kept the hospital medicines under lock and key, were suspended from office, the hospital’s spokesperson told Digi 24.

“At the moment, the steering committee has notified itself. The creation of a commission of inquiry has been discussed, which will analyze the whole situation. During the investigation, the ATI chief physician and the chief nurse were suspended from office. Mitoiu, spokesman for St. Pantelimon Hospital.

In the recording of the publication date on Thursday morning Catalin Tolontan on his blog, Laura Constantinescu tells the doctors in the hospital that the drugs are not enough for all patients and, “if we give to everyone, we no longer have medication for what is worthwhile”.

Either “we give them to the young and the lucky ones”, or “we don’t have the ones they deserve anymore and we don’t care anymore that this is the budget”, said the ATI boss.

Another irregularity found at the Pantelimon Hospital in the Capital is that the drugs are kept under lock and key by the head nurse. Normally, they should be stored in the pharmacy in the unit or in each ward and all medical staff should have access to them.

The recording was offered to Catalin Tolontan by Mioara Duvlea, pharmacist of St. Pantelimon Hospital. – .
