We are in 1998, at a time when the democratization of the Internet was only just beginning and when information was not delivered immediately. The television was still favored by families and the two newspapers at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. concentrated the hearings. Each household had its favorite channel: TF1 for some, France 2 for others.
For the start of the September 1998 school year, the public service made the daring choice by entrusting the responsibility of 1 p.m. to two presenters. Carole Gaessler takes the reins alongside Rachid Arhab.
For the latter, a native of Kabylia and who spent his childhood in the Fensch valley, it was a meteoric rise after his beginnings as a journalist at… FR3 Nancy in 1977.
