The Cuban singer Eduardo Antonio “El Divo de Placetas” suffered from an upset during an interview on the program of the Cuban presenter Frank Abel.
The situation occurred as soon as the singer entered the studio, as he noticed a detail in the decoration that he found quite unpleasant and that he could not keep to himself.
While the presenter offered him a warm welcome, the artist barely returned the greeting with few gestures, as his gaze remained fixed on a poster located at the back of the studio, to which he finally went after greeting the announcer almost indifferently.
On the poster, the faces of various artists of the urban genre from Cuba stood out: Ovi, La Diosa, El Micha, Señorita Dayana, Osmani García, Gente de Zona, Lenier, Chacal, El Chulo, among others.
It turns out that what the singer found in bad taste and bitter was not being on the same poster, neither he nor other important representatives of Cuban music.
“Amaury is missing, Gloria (Estefan), Willy (Chirino), Albita, Divo is missing,” he said while taking a place in the guest chair.
“I love those who are there and forgive me for starting this interview like this,” he commented, appealing to the understanding of those present.
“If Eduardo Antonio has had something throughout these last 40 years of his career, it is that he has fought for his place. Because they have given it to many, out of affection and admiration, but they have wanted to deny it to others, ”he claimed, speaking of himself in the third person.
The singer pointed out that due to his long career he deserved to occupy a place in such a poster. In this sense, the artist ignored the fact that all the figures on the poster were from the urban genre, unlike the singers he mentioned and himself.
“I have been moving it for 40 years. I do want, until the last day of my life, to fight for my place, ”she added.
Infected by his guest’s bad mood, Frank Abel asked the production team if he could remove the poster, but the staff’s response was negative.
“Ok, well look, I can’t remove it, but then you have to put the artists who are from this house. Eduardo, I apologize to you, ”she commented.
El Divo returned to the matter to clarify that the solution was not to remove the poster.
“More than removing it is putting those who also deserve to be and many of us deserve to be. All those who are here are friends, they are colleagues, I love them, but we are missing and, since we are missing, I will raise my voice for those of us who are missing, ”she settled.
On his social networks, El Divo ignored the interview he was given and shared only a video of the incident with the poster, adding in the caption: “I have been disrespected.”
