The Diverse Fleet of the Protection Service of the Czech Republic: From BMW Motorcycles to Luxurious SUVs and Sedans

The Protection Service of the Police of the Czech Republic is a unit with nationwide scope and international reach, whose task is to protect persons designated by government decree. This is mainly about constitutional officials other than the President of the Republic, who have their own security (another department).

The service also protects foreign delegations in accordance with valid international agreements, selected objects (Senate, Parliament, embassies, diplomatic objects, etc.), other designated persons and also solves, for example, analyzes of risk groups, or protection against drones.

Due to the performance of truly diverse tasks, police officers need adequate equipment, including vehicles with different registration marks, which are supposed to ensure, in addition to safety, comfort for the transported persons, representativeness, or, on the contrary, inconspicuousness.

In the garages of the protective service, there are not only luxury limousines, but also a variety of SUVs serving as “workers”, MPVs designed for the transport of several people or off-road vehicles for tasks carried out off-road.

Motorcycle at the Protection Service? Why not. It is a 2020 BMW K 1600 GT model equipped with a unique 1.7-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 160 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque.

The sedan from 2013 nicknamed the “cat” really does not age, after all, just look at its eye-catching design. The joy doesn’t end there, as the driving heart of the car is a three-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine supported by a compressor, which results in an output of 340 horsepower.

The torque of 450 Nm travels through the eight-speed automatic to all four wheels, while the top speed of the vehicle is 250 km/h. The acceleration from zero to hundred is also impressive, which takes the car in 6.4 seconds.

Despite its age, Jaguar still looks presentable and mainly drives protected persons from abroad. Although the car attracts attention on the streets, it is among the popular and widely used.

The Bavarian X5 series is normally perceived as a luxury vehicle, however, in the ranks of the Protection Service, it is an ordinary worker, but decently equipped. The SUV is usually tasked with protecting a moving VIP limousine in front of it and carries bodyguards.

The heart of the 2020 car is a turbocharged three-liter inline six-cylinder tuned for 340 horsepower and 450 Nm. With the help of an eight-speed automatic transmission, torque is then transmitted to all four wheels with the standard dominance of the rear axle.

The car of accompanying official performance and support teams has a maximum limited to 250 km/h and acceleration from zero to hundred in 5.5 seconds.

The main flagship of the Protection Service of the Police of the Czech Republic with proud flag carriers, an active rear axle and an extended body. Rumors are circulating about the Protective Services unit of the Police of the Czech Republic that it has powerful vehicles mainly because of the need for maximum speed, however, according to its representatives, it is primarily about acceleration. The primary task of the members of the department is to ensure the safety of the persons in question, and not to transport them to the places in record time.
