An 11-year-old boy has been missing in Iowa since last week.
When Xavior Harrelson was last seen alive, he was cycling not far from his home in Montezuma, Iowa. The 11-year-old has been missing since last Thursday and his parents say he would never have left on his own. It was around 11 a.m. that the little boy gave his last signs of life. He was wearing a red t-shirt, black shoes and blue pajama pants.
According to the KCCI channel, hundreds of volunteers came to help the relatives of the child who should have celebrated his birthday on Sunday, to search the area. Constable Mitch Mortvedt explained that the family was cooperating fully with the police, saying that Xavior, due to his young age, was considered in danger. He added that divers had searched the surrounding lakes, so far to no avail.
A call to the public
While Xavior’s disappearance is of great concern, police explained that for now, she did not meet the criteria to launch an Amber Alert – the equivalent of our kidnapping alert plan. “The Amber Alert is more for criminal kidnappings. We just don’t have any information one way or another that meets the alert criteria at this point, ”said Mitch Mortvedt. “We strongly encourage anyone with any information, or even the slightest doubt, to contact the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office, or if you are outside of that area to call 911 directly,” he said. he however asked the public. Residents were also asked to check their surveillance cameras for any clues. Monday evening, a candlelight vigil was held to support Xavior’s family.
