District Prosecutor’s Office-Burgas leads the pre-trial investigation initiated in relation to an organized criminal group that committed crimes against intellectual property and the customs regime.
On 10.07.2023 a specialized police operation was carried out by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on the territory of the Burgas and Haskovo regions. It was established from the operative and search measures that the individuals of the criminal group created a channel for smuggling goods from the Republic of Turkey with the logos of well-known brands and organized their distribution by using them in commercial activity without the consent of the holder of the exclusive right.
A depot has been established on the territory of the city of Burgas for the purpose of distributing the goods in other EU countries and in our country.
As a result of the procedural and investigative actions carried out on the territory of the two regions, numerous goods and sums of money were seized from various commercial establishments, homes and cars. Three persons have been brought to criminal responsibility.
