The district of San Antonio prepares for its post-pandemic patron saint party

SAINT ANTONY. This town, located just 22 kilometers from Asunción, is preparing to celebrate the day of its spiritual protector, Saint Anthony of Padua, whose liturgical feast is June 13. There will be a student, police and military parade. After two years there will be a nautical procession along the Paraguay River, there will also be two nights of festivals and a lunch show.

The Catholic community of the city of San Antonio prepares to honor its spiritual protector that bears the same name, and several activities are prepared within the framework of the patron saint festivities- This year the nautical procession will be held again, a rite that was suspended for two years due to the pandemic.

The activities start on the 10th of the current day with a student, police, military and volunteer firefighters parade on the main avenue. The march will also be to honor the heroes of the Chaco War.

After disembarking in the Antigua Imagen neighborhood, the march will begin along the main avenue, which also bears the same name as the spiritual protector, to the local parish, accompanied by the band of musicians of the National Police.

Military-police parade and retreat

For the parade on June 10 they will be present cadets from the Acosta Ñu Military Lyceum and different groups of the national police, such as the mounted, lynx, the group of dogs and the motorized one.
