Krišjāni Suntaž is known in the Latvian sports community as a javelin thrower, but his heart’s passion is music. This year Suntaž participated in the national selection for Eurovision, but the joy of getting into the semifinalists was short-lived.

When submitting a piece to the competition, the musician Saule, like the other candidates, confirmed that he had been informed and accepted the conditions contained in the candidacy regulation. Unfortunately, the LTV project team, which assessed the suitability of the musical works, only found out after the announcement of the semi-finalists that the song “Finally Happy” had already been publicly played on December 19, 2021.

As Suntazh explains on her Instagram profile, she learned about the rejection from the media. The artist expresses his gratitude to all who supported him. “But, of course, my team and I are disappointed that performing another version of the song ‘Finally Happy’ at the ‘High Five!’ was an obstacle to continue participating in ‘Supernova’,” says Suntaj.

The singer explains that it was painful to learn of the disqualification from the headlines, but the incident as a whole gave him the motivation to work harder in the future. Suntags will be releasing his disqualified song to a wider audience soon. The song “Finally Happy” was produced by Rolands Priverts, the music was composed by Suntaž and Privert, but the lyrics belong to Suntaž.
