It sounded like a long picnic and endless adventures – when the city of Graz announced a year ago that it would open the Gösting castle ruins to visitors as a new tenant. To be reopened after the 12th-century complex had to be closed due to crumbling parts of the wall. But things turned out very differently and basically remained on a single opening day – on October 26, 2022. The reason: From the city’s point of view, the maintenance of the castle ruins is like a moat.
