In a photograph that was supposedly sent to the relatives of the victims, you can see five young people, whose identity is unknown, kneeling in what appears to be the patio of a house. The five people shown in the image have visible bruises on their faces, as well as being handcuffed and having tapes over their mouths.

At least two of the people who appear in the image have white shirts, another two black shirts and one more wears a sweatshirt; all in blue jeans.

The journalist specializing in organized crime, Karina Velasco, pointed out through her Twitter account (@kaoryvsco) that the alleged leaked video shows five people being forced to harm each other with objects ranging from a stone to a knife.

Despite the fact that this material has circulated on social networks for several hours, to date the Prosecutor’s Office has not provided official information on the case nor has it denied the veracity of the audiovisuals. The governor of the State, Enrique Alfaro, has not ruled on the matter either.

“We are on a knife edge, I am very worried, people are waiting for us to come out and the truth is that there is not much to do in the sense of what do I say, what do I do?[…] I want them to do their job (the Prosecutor’s Office), to find them […] They don’t even know how to answer (where are the five young people)”, commented Armando Olmeda.

According to what was narrated by relatives, the five men went to the Lagos 2023 Fair, but since the night of Friday, August 11, all communication with them was lost, so the disappearance reports were filed on Saturday.

The last time they were seen or heard from the young people was around 11:00 p.m., when they were aboard a white Jetta JTJ 8638 license plate.

Luis Joaquín Méndez Ruíz, Jalisco prosecutor, announced that the young people were traveling aboard two vehicles, one of which has already been located: “The vehicle was parked in apparently normal, regular conditions, very close to the area where it was located. He says that they were sighted for the last time,” he explained to the media.

On the other hand, Méndez Ruíz has assured that the Prosecutor’s Office seeks to exhaust all possible lines of investigation to find the whereabouts of the young people. Security camera records have also been requested and witnesses are being sought who can provide more information.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 13, relatives and friends of the five young people gathered outside the JFV Stadium, where the semifinal of the Jalisco Cup was played, to demand that the authorities expedite their work.
