The dirham is losing value against the euro

The dirham depreciated 0.14% against the euro and appreciated 0.40% against the dollar during the period from June 18 to 24.

No auction was carried out on the foreign exchange market during the period, said Bank Al-Maghrib in its latest weekly indicators bulletin. As of June 19, official reserve assets stood at 287.9 ​​billion dirhams (MMDH), down 0.4% week-on-week and up 22.1% in year-on-year, says the same source.

An amount of 41.2 MMDH in the form of advances to 7 days on call for tenders, was injected by BAM. The overall outstanding amount of interventions comes to 108.3 MMDH for injections of 34.6 billion in the form of repurchase operations delivered, 29.6 billion as part of the program to support the financing of the TPME and of 3 MMDH for currency swap transactions.

The daily volume of trade stood at 4.4 billion and the interbank rate was located during the period at 1.5% on average on the interbank market, specifies BAM which indicates having injected an amount of 38, 2 MMDH in the form of advances to 7 days during the call for tenders of June 24.

Regarding the volume of transactions, it reached 1.3 billion against 773.9 million dirhams (MDH) a week earlier. As for the average daily amount of exchanges carried out on the central equity market, it stood at 237.1 MDH against 153.1 million a week earlier.
