Srikanth, who started his acting career with the film Roja Khoom, has appeared in more than 50 films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Srikanth played the lead role in Nanpan, the Tamil remake of one of Bollywood’s biggest hits of all time, Three Idiots.
Directed by Shankar, Vijay was the hero. Srikanth shares the shooting experiences of the film. Srikanth said he was the last to join the film and was excited to be a part of such a big project. But Srikanth said that on the day he reached the sets, he saw that Vijay was angry about something.
Srikanth also said that Vijay got into a fight because there was a bit of a tiff between him and Shankar over Vijay’s hairstyle. Srikanth said that he was planning to meet Mahesh Babu or Suriya instead of Vijay. Srikanth said that he had rejected four films for that project and it would have been a huge loss if Nanpan had not happened. Srikanth was talking to Touring Talkies.
I was the last one to join the Nanpan sets. As soon as he reached the set, he went to see Shankar sir. Then Vijay sir was coming down there. I smiled at Pulli but he didn’t care. Then it came to know that there was a problem between Vijay sir and Shankar sir. The problem was with Pulli’s hairstyle.
Pulli left the set. Shankar sir had said that Mahesh Babu may be called for the role later or Suriya as originally planned. That was not what I was afraid of, I had rejected five other films for that film. Then Nanpan came to the set. I would have missed a lot if the movie had stopped anywhere. The film was later completed by the same team,” says Srikanth.
