The director of Yuyachkani, Miguel Rubio and photographer Musuk Nolte present the book UNTITLE-MIXED TECHNIQUE

Miguel Rubio Zapata, playwright and director of the Yuyachkani Cultural Group, and Musuk Nolte, photographer and editor of KWY Ediciones, present the book this Friday, March 1st WITHOUT TITLE-MIXED TECHNIQUE (KWY-Remember editors 2024).

The event will begin with a stage action by the Yuyachkani Group taking some elements of the theatrical work that gives rise to this publication. The book will be presented by the authors and the visual artist Janine Soenens, editor of the text.

WITHOUT TITLE-MIXED TECHNIQUE It is a book of photography and text, where each author shares a personal view of the homonymous work.

Miguel Rubio Zapata offers us a generous guided tour as director-spectator of an intense collective creative process that begins after the group’s accompaniment to the Public Hearings and various activities around the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (CVR). He tells us what moment the Yuyachkani group was in when it proposed to undertake the creation of a work that aims to bring to the stage themes underlying two historical moments: the war with Chile and the internal armed conflict. This experience results in a montage with a “displacement” dramatic structure, that is, discontinuous and simultaneous, which weaves with various times and orders, types of writings and acting presences, proliferation of documents and cultural objects, which represented an important, atypical milestone. and uncommon as a proposal for our cultural scene.

The striking black and white images of Musuk Nolte show the extent to which the work proposed relationships so different from those expected in a conventional theater space. Various documents and objects installed in the space serve as a constellation of contexts in which the actresses and actors display their presences in tension with a spectator who, like everyone present at the event, forms part of a moving stage.

Both authors, each from their place of enunciation, individually and collectively have an intense activity linked to the defense of Human Rights in Peru.
