Theater and film director Otakar Kosek died on Monday at the age of 77. He has more than a hundred television films, productions and series on his account. Among other things, he directed a number of episodes of the TV series Nova Ulice.
She informed ČTK about the death of Otakar Kosk, the report was confirmed by the director’s wife Helena Winkelmannová. He died Monday at the age of 77.
After graduating from DAMU, he made mostly television films and productions. Important achievements from the early period of his career include, for example, How to Lose Life, A Visit from Space or Moon Valley.
He was also at the birth of the 80’s series Without Women and Tobacco. From the later years of his career, it is worth mentioning, for example, the fairy tale from 2005 When a Rooster Lays Eggs.
In the same year, the TV series Nova Ulice appeared on television screens, in which Kosek participated as a director. He directed 30 episodes of the first series, which lasted until 2006. He also participated in the creation of series in several other series.
Kosek’s directors also include Everyday Stories and Strawberries on Blades of Grass. As a theater director, he worked, for example, at the Petr Bezruč Theater in Ostrava, the Silesian Theater in Opava and the ABC Theater in Prague.
