Nine Inch Nails + Spec Ops: The Line = EYES OUT
—
Spec Ops: The Line director Cory Davis and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck have announced that they will start the game studio EYES OUT. The new studio is located in Los Angeles and on the official website you can read:
“[EYES OUT] is comprised of passionate world-builders and storytellers who believe in the powerful synesthesia that emerges from music, narrative, and interactive experiences,”
–
That they then write that the first project will be a horror game felt like a low odds given their backgrounds. except Spec Ops: The Line Cory Davis has also worked with F.E.A.R and Finck’s music background speaks for itself.
This is how they describe the game project.
“single-player immersive cosmic horror game with strong environmental storytelling elements.”

In addition to Davis and Finck, EYES OUT consists of a lot of veterans who, among other things, have worked on titles such as Apex Lengends, Here They Lie, The Evil Within and Gears of War.
This is how Davis himself writes about how the project started:
“When I was finishing up work on Here They Lie, Robin wandered into our studio and I felt a very strong connection to his open, creative view of existence, and the power of music,”
“We instantly started working on some prototypes I had in development at the time and together we launched straight toward something unexpected. Robin’s vibrant and boundless approach to the creative process drives our work far beyond my previous experience. It’s such an exhilarating trip to venture into the darkness together.”
