Literally “Energoatom”: “The visit of the head of the IAEA to the largest nuclear power plant in our country and in all of Europe, the second since the beginning of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, lasted several hours.
Rafael Grossi returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine together with the experts of the permanent mission of the Agency, who were at the ZNPP before today’s rotation.
Other representatives of the IAEA will continue to monitor the situation at the station.”
Details: The IAEA said that Grossi crossed the front line to visit the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to assess its nuclear safety and security. He confirmed the urgent need to protect the station.
Grossi has led a new rotation of a team of IAEA experts and inspectors who provide support and assistance to ZNPP.
Recall: The IAEA is unsuccessfully trying to agree on the demilitarization and security zone around the ZNPP, which was occupied and used as a platform for shelling by Russian troops.
