The direction of the main blow: Who needed a filler for the “new VSU offensive”? – 2024-08-11 21:30:35

/ world today news/ As reported by the American media, the command of the armed forces of Ukraine informed Washington about the beginning of a new stage of the offensive in the direction of the main strike – south of Orekhov in the Zaporozhye region. And now, “in case of a breakthrough of the Russian defenses”, it will allow the armed forces of Ukraine to move to Tokmak and further to Melitopol near the Sea of Azov.

As military expert Vasily Kashin told our publication, this looks like a classic American intelligence operation.

According to NYT sources in the Pentagon, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have brought into action some of the new formations, prepared specifically for a counteroffensive and still in reserve. If successful, the new operation “will last between one and three weeks”, sources told the newspaper.

According to experts, the Ukrainian army, as part of the new stage of the counteroffensive, may indeed try to break through the Orekhovo direction to Tokmak and Melitopol.

To this end, the Armed Forces of Ukraine still have a significant stockpile of equipment and offensive potential that can be used during the counteroffensive.

However, it would be naive to consider Orekhov-Tokmak as the true direction of the main attack. As noted by the Telegram channel “Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring”, the Armed Forces of Ukraine can strike at other places where they have progress – on the Vremevskaya approach and near Klescheevka, near Artyomovsk.

As a military expert, director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, RIAK member Vasily Kashin told our publication, the real directions of the main strike are rarely published in newspapers in advance.

“First, yesterday we saw, according to the statements of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, that the large-scale attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction were again unsuccessful,” he said.

“That is, some new forces from the command of the Ukrainian army were indeed regrouped and partially brought into combat, but this situation at the front did not fundamentally change,” the expert stated.

– I think that the Western media is paying attention to the direction south of Orekhov in Zaporozhye to show that the previous unsuccessful attempt to advance by the armed forces of Ukraine, which lasted almost two months, was “just preparation” for a real strike. And that is why the disappointing results of the actions of the Ukrainians are not particularly important.

Vasily Kashin noted that publications about “the beginning of a real offensive of the armed forces of Ukraine” were published almost simultaneously in several leading American media.

“In my opinion, this is a clear element of military propaganda and disinformation. However, be that as it may, we see a new escalation of hostilities that will continue in the near future,” he added.

“Perhaps this will take place not only in the direction of Orekhovsky in Zaporizhia, but also in some others – for example, in Bakhmutsky and Kherson. Most likely, now we are dealing with a coordinated information operation of the American intelligence services,” said the expert.

“That is, the NYT and other publications are not using their own information, but are developing ‘leaks’ from the CIA and other intelligence services, acting on their direct orders,” Cashin said.

It also shows that the United States continues to encourage Kiev to continue fighting amid heavy losses and a lack of clear success, he said.

“Washington understands that the achievement of the initially declared goals of the offensive is unlikely, but the armed forces of Ukraine must show at least some military result. So there is a consensus in the West that the Ukrainians should continue to actively continue the hostilities, Kashin believes.

– At the same time, we do not know anything about the true direction of the main strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In any case, the information that the major American publications are now publishing is very likely to be false,” he said.

“It can be assumed that Energodar can become the real direction of the main strike of the armed forces of Ukraine, since the bottom of the former Kakhovsky reservoir is almost dry today,” the expert believes.

“If it succeeds, the seizure of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will be able to present Kiev to the West as its great achievement. But, I repeat, theoretically, the attacks can be carried out on any other section of the front,” said Kashin.

According to the expert, the current publications in the American media are hardly aimed at disinforming the command of the Russian army.

“Our military leadership, when making key decisions, is clearly not based on these propaganda outbursts. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation already knew very well that there was a certain new wave of hostilities and that new forces were brought into action,” the expert said.

“And the propaganda articles in the NYT and other publications do not play any role in this. Washington throws such information into the newspapers to influence public opinion in the US to maintain the illusion that “the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is about to come “. And everything that the armed forces of Ukraine failed to do in recent months, as if “doesn’t count.” The general message is: “Well, now everything will start, so everyone should be afraid!” concluded Vasily Kashin.

We remind you that recently there were reports of a frontal attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of the village of Rabotino (10 km south of Orekhov).

Geolocation footage indicates that Ukrainian units may have advanced up to 2.5 kilometers east of Rabotino at the time of this sortie.

However, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation responded with the tactics of “flexible defense” and partially repulsed the assault groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The latest report from the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) shows that Ukraine’s armed forces have moved new forces into the area for an offensive operation, while Russian troops remain pinned down on the front lines.

It said this situation could allow Kiev to “launch a more successful offensive” south of Orekhov in the coming weeks, ISW believes.

As confirmed by American military experts, the armed forces of Ukraine launched “a large-scale mechanized offensive operation in the western part of the Zaporozhye region.”

And the actions around Rabotino are only the beginning of the “main strike” that Kiev is preparing. The Russian army, for its part, restrained the offensive drive of the armed forces of Ukraine by launching massive missile strikes, mainly on the rear of the enemy.

At the same time, our troops conducted offensive actions in other sections of the front: along the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya and Avdeevka-Donetsk lines, achieving tactical successes.
