Everything is prepared for the next spectacle. After seven points from three games this year, HSV wants to play against Bielefeld on Sunday – and probably in a sold-out house. The desire of the fans seems to be limitless. Also, because HSV games are rarely, if at all, without drama and excitement.
Not much is possible. HSV had sold more than 55,000 tickets by Friday evening, with just under 2,000 still available. The fans are running into their club, it is already almost certain that the second division record from Stuttgart’s promotion season 2019/20 (51,657 fans on average) will fall at the end of the season. A support that should also carry HSV against Arminia.
HSV coach Walter promises the fans another spectacle
Tim Walter’s chest swells as he reflects on the fan support. “That speaks for us, for HSV,” says the coach, who is proud of the permanently full stands. “I think that people enjoy coming to us, that they like to see spectacles.” Even more: “I think it will be like that again at the weekend. The Dino delivers great cinema.”

Actually more than a nice play on words. Since Walter started at HSV in the summer of 2021, there has not been a single goalless game in the Volkspark. 84 goals were scored in 27 league home games, which makes an average of 3.11 booths per game. The entrance fee is well spent there.
What should make the stadium picture against Bielefeld particularly impressive: The supporters have declared a flag day. If possible, every fan should appear in the stadium with a flag to bring the professionals of the Bundesliga a little closer.
HSV fans recently had to tremble badly in Heidenheim
But how much cinema will the kick against Arminia have to offer? The fingernails of many fans are still badly battered after the thriller in Heidenheim (3: 3 after 0: 3 deficit). “Of course we would like to take a more relaxed approach to the whole thing and would like to put the lid on it earlier,” says Walter. “But football is not a request concert. For us it means never taking your foot off the gas pedal.”
This not only applies to Sunday, but to the entire three remaining months of the season. Because fan records or not – from summer on, the supporters in the Volkspark finally want to see first division football again.
