RAIN OF SACK. New clinics for community dentistry and a digital angiograph for cardiology. These are the novelties inaugurated yesterday at the Immaculate Conception hospital by the Commissioner of the USL 6 Euganea, Domenico Scibetta, and by the regional councilor for Health and Social Manuela Lanzarin.
«This hospital» began Scibetta «is increasingly in step with the times and represents an essential piece in the mosaic of health care, for the population of Saccisica and beyond. Last year the Region updated the extraordinary investment program, providing for an allocation of 20 million euros for Piove ».
As for community dentistry, larger and child-friendly spaces have been created. The new clinics, on the fourth floor, extend over an area of 500 square meters. The preparation of the premises, made possible thanks to a loan of 244 thousand euros, took into account the long clinical and health experience gained with children and their families over the years.
Directed by Dr. Claudio Gallo, the department has been operating for twenty years in the field of special dentistry aimed at patients in the pediatric age and with disabilities, for which it has now become a national reference center.
There are 1,111 adult and 1,039 pediatric patients assisted here, of which 470 with medium-severe disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome and other psychophysical disorders. Moving on to the Cardiology department, the new digital angiograph is a latest generation equipment, with accessory instrumentation for more accurate investigations of hemodynamics and electrophysiology.
«It will allow to perform» the head physician Domenico Marchese «in a simple way even the most complex procedures, to optimize the performance of the interventional suite and guarantee a superior standard of care».
“There are the conditions to look to a future of development and enhancement” added Mayor Davide Gianella “going to untie the last knots on the maternal and child area, on the oncological side and investing in the structure and plants in order to have new major spaces. The requests that the territory demanded in 2013 have today proved to be the best response to the needs of the citizens of the USL 6, in a concept of a network of assistance between presidia ».
The Intensive Care bed station (value 25 thousand euros) donated by Banca Patavina, represented by the president Leonardo Toson, was also presented. Finally, the local artist Walmer Peccenini gave the hospital his own sculpture dedicated to health personnel. ––
