Pastrňák’s firstborn son Viggo died, he was only six days old. Everything seemed to be happening extremely fast, he didn’t even have time to announce that his partner Rebecca Rohlsson had given birth at all. The world learned from the hockey striker on Monday about a tragedy that no one expected.
The boy was born on June 17 and left forever on June 23. “We have an angel watching over us, and we call him a son. We will love you forever.” wrote Pastrňák. “Please respect our privacy in this heartbreaking period,” he added.
Unfortunately, this is not the only tragic event that Pastrňák faces in the 25 years of his life. The cancer took his beloved father Milan Pastrňák.
It was he who as a hockey coach introduced him to a sport as a child, which became his passion and later his profession. “He always said to me: I’m not going to give you any advice. If you want any advice, come alone. I’ll just let you play.” recalled Pastrňák for the web NHL.
When he was about to leave for Sweden for the better in 2011, he came to his father for the first and last time for advice: “I told him I wanted to train with him. And he took me to dry training, running, and so on. Then I never came to see him again.” he told with a laugh. The trainings were too hard.
Four days before Pastrňák’s 17th birthday, on May 23, 2013, a painful wound came. David found out about his father’s departure over the phone from his mother. Milan Pastrňák fought the insidious disease for a long time. They were both afraid of the sad end, but they could not prepare for it.
“It was probably the hardest moment of my life. Being alone in Sweden and taking a phone call from my mom when you find out that Dad died. I was there for the second year, so I already knew a bit of Swedish and English, but I was always happiest (with my father, editor’s note) at the stadium, “added Pastrňák in 2019.
It was still good here. Pastrňák with his girlfriend Rebecca at Prague’s Štvanice:

He had no idea then what misfortune he would face two years later. It is not yet clear why little Viggo did not live for a week. Not only relatives but also friends and fans are a support for Pastrňák and his Rebecca. We would also like to express our sincere condolences.
