The Formula 1 season will begin on the weekend of Sunday, October 20 with the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. As well as being a sprint weekend, we also have to deal with different times. So the program is very different from other weekends.
After an ‘autumn break’ of almost four weeks, the 2024 Formula 1 season will finally start again on the weekend of Sunday, October 20. And that promises to be a very interesting weekend. Besides the fact that the Grand Prix of the United States almost always guarantees a spectacle on the track, the Circuit of the Americas is the backdrop for the fourth sprint race weekend of the season. Also, many teams take – including Red Bull Racing – big upgrade packages to Texas, hoping for a strong start to the latter part of the season. With six race weekends to go, both the constructors’ championship and the world drivers’ championship are far from decided.
Circuit of The Americas is located in Austin, Texas and takes drivers over 5.513 kilometers of asphalt. The circuit has a total of twenty corners and two DRS zones. A Grand Prix was held here for the first time in 2012. The height difference, the fast curves and the long stretches mean that exciting races are often held here. The United States Grand Prix has a total of 56 laps, making the race distance 308.405 kilometers. The sprint race is held over just over 100 kilometers. The history is held by 1.36.169 (2019). Charles Leclerc. The 2023 edition was won by Max Verstappen.
