Postponed a few days due to lack of quorum, the last meeting of the city council of the year 2022 was held well in advance, on Monday 26 December, with reduced attendance. Reasons for this unusual meeting: Several resolutions on technical issues had to be taken by 31 December. Including that relating to the municipal campsite.
Camping has, in fact, occupied a large part of the debates. First, the review of the various related tariffs. Due to the increase in prices, especially for energy, they will undergo a slight increase, as will the tourist tax set by the Cœur de Loire community of communes. But the biggest increase comes from the occasional privatization of the site by more than 40%, to an incumbent tenant, who maintains the campground every season.
Campers wish to have calm
These new tariffs are adopted unanimously. This is not the case for the renewal of the agreement with the Fréry Group, manager of the site in 2022. Mayor Pascal Knopp proposes the renewal “with a reduced increase after the negotiations”, of 37,000 euros instead of 35,000 this year, justified by salary increases.
The management of the Pouilly-sur-Loire campsite was discussed in the council (March 2022)
However, the city councilor Benjamin Masi justified his opposition by underlining that “this group does not offer entertainment, which does not benefit the inhabitants”. For the mayor “entertainment is the bar. Campers, often people who travel the Loire by bike, who stay there, come looking for calm, a warm welcome, cleanliness and relaxation”. The convention is adopted by majority vote (one abstention, two votes against).
