The difference between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez in the eyes of Joan Mir

KOMPAS.com – Suzuki Ecstar racer, Joan Mir, have different ratings regarding the two icons MotoGP, Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.

Joan Mir gave that assessment after he won the world title MotoGP 2020.

The success of winning the 2020 MotoGP title has made Joan Mir now often equated with Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.

Because, Joan Mir matched the achievements of Rossi and Marquez, namely winning the MotoGP / 500cc and Moto3 / 125cc world titles in five years.

The difference is, Joan Mir has never won the Moto2 / 250cc world title while Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi have one.

Hearing himself being equated with Rossi and Marc Marquez, Joan Mir admitted that he was very flattered.

However, Joan Mir has a different view of Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.

Joan Mir considers himself very unlike Marc Marquez in character.

On the other hand, Joan Mir admitted that Valentino Rossi was the source of his inspiration.

“Throughout my life, I never imagined that I would be compared to Valentino Rossi or Marc Marquez,” said Joan Mir, quoted from the Tuttomotoriweb website, Wednesday (11/18/2020).

“Until now, I still thought I could not match Rossi or Marc Marquez,” said Joan Mir.

“The source of my inspiration is Valentino Rossi. To be sure, however, I do not have a character like Marc Marquez,” added Joan Mir.

Regarding the assessment of Marc Marquez, Joan Mir did not give a detailed explanation.

Joan Mir only explained why he was so inspired by Valentino Rossi.

Joan Mir in particular admitted that he admired Rossi’s character, who he thought was very good and exemplary for other riders.

“I am very inspired by Rossi’s attitude both on and off the track,” said Joan Mir.

“The person I watch the most to understand how things should be done or not is Valentino Rossi,” Joan Mir added.

“I am not watching Rossi because I want to look like him. However, I feel that Rossi is the person most similar to me in character,” said Joan Mir.

“Another racer who I also like and observe carefully is Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati),” said Joan Mir.

Furthermore, Joan Mir and other riders will prepare for the final series of the World Championship this season, the Portuguese MotoGP.

The Portuguese MotoGP series will be held at the Portimao Circuit on Friday (20/11/2020) to Sunday (22/11/2020).

Even though the competition for the 2020 MotoGP world champion has ended, the Portuguese MotoGP race is still interesting to watch.

This is because there are still two more titles to be contested, namely the best team and the best constructor.
