The DIF – La Prensa de Monclova unit will provide services on Tuesdays

The DIF Coahuila mobile unit for cancer detection will maintain operations in Ramos Arizpe on Tuesday of each week.

The municipal director of Health, Luis Humberto Valdés Rodríguez, reported that, through the efforts of the president of the DIF Ramos Arizpe, Anilú Cavazos, the support of the honorary head of said instance, Marcela Gorgón, was obtained for the assignment of said mobile team and medical staff.

“The unit has been working for two continuous weeks and now it will come every Tuesday to offer the service as we did in the weekly brigades that we had in the colonies.”

Every Tuesday, from 9 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon, those interested may attend the sampling for the detection of breast, cervical or prostate cancer at the facilities of the DIF Ramos Arizpe.

“So far we have cared for almost a hundred people, most of them women since, as we know, there is a lot of resistance among men to take care of their health and for a subject as delicate as the prostate,” he commented, “The invitation it is so that they take advantage of this type of free services that, mainly, can save their lives in case of detecting any anomalous situation in time ”.

Through the mobile unit, mammograms, pap smears, HPV tests and colposcopy are performed for women over 18 years of age and with an active sexual life.

Similarly, men over 40 years of age undergo prostate screening.

Valdés Rodríguez insisted on the need for medical evaluation for timely treatment of any possible illness.
