The specific decision was to increase the capacity of all providers by between 20% and 45%, thus improving home fiber optic connections.
Cooperatives and Internet providers in La Pampa are already offering plans with greater speed thanks to the increase in capacity and the reduction of wholesale costs of the services provided by EMPATEL SAPEM. These improvements were recently announced by Governor Sergio Ziliotto, an official press release reported.
The specific decision was to increase the capacity of all providers by between 20% and 45%, thus improving home fiber optic connections. In addition, the value of the mega for cooperatives and private companies was reduced between 26% and 36%. Other providers are following this path and will soon announce improvements to their services.
For example, CORPICO increased its fiber optic plans to a minimum of 40 Mbps, offering up to 400 Mbps. In General Acha, the Telega firm has increased the minimum download speed with plans of 50, 75 and 100 Mbps. The Health Foundation Animal (FUNSADU) increased the fiber optic plans it offers in Cuchillo Có to 50 Mbps and, in collaboration with EMPATEL, is working to raise that minimum to 100 Mbps. FUNSADU is one of the operators that uses one of the 16 neutral networks made with the first connectivity plan.
The General San Martín Public Works and Services Cooperative has increased its plans to a minimum of 25 Mbps, while the provider Alejandro Zanazzi, which provides services in the area of Victorica, Carro Quemado, Loventué, Telén, Luan Toro and Rucanelo, has increased all its plans from 15 to 100 Mbps download. Pablo Valderrama, Internet provider in Colonia Barón and Villa Mirasol, raised its plans to a minimum of 25 Mbps and offers up to 200 Mbps.
According to the president of EMPATEL, Andrés Zulueta, “There is a very big effort on the part of the provincial government to accompany internet providers to improve their services and that this benefits the neighbors. The network reaches locations where no other company reaches and permanently accompanies with rates and increased capacities “and the provincial government is also creating tools to finance new investments.”.
