The Downtown Arts District reports the return of the 15th annual edition of the popular “Día de Los Muertos & Monster Party”, which will be held this Thursday, October 17, 2024 in Downtown Orlando. This one-of-a-kind event is a vibrant fusion of art inspired by both Día de los Muertos and Halloween, offering a celebration full of color, creativity and culture.
The day begins with the opening of exhibitions in CityArts Orlando at 4:30 p.mwhere works of art created by local, national and international artists will be exhibited. These pieces are inspired by both the traditions of the Day of the Dead and the world of Halloween monsters. Next, the famous street party, which will extend throughout Magnolia Avenue until 10:00 p.m.promises to captivate attendees with a variety of art vendors, live entertainment, and delicious food offerings.
This year, the event also includes the participation of Orange County Regional History Museumwhich will open its doors for free until 9:00 pm, with activities for children in Heritage Square. The festivities expand throughout the area, providing activities to enjoy with the family as part of the program DTOLIVEin collaboration with the Downtown Development Board y United Arts of Central Florida.
The cultural elements and entertainment have been carefully selected by CABETCALwith the participation of the Mexican Consulate and House of Mexicowho will contribute to capturing the essence of the Day of the Dead in their exhibitions and activities.
