Striking Distance Studios has announced the cancellation of the Japanese release of The Callisto Protocol. According to a roughly translated tweet made by the game’s Japanese Twitter account, the studio is halting work on the Japanese release of The Callisto Protocol due to failing to meet certification requirements from Japan’s CERO scoreboard.
The study also said that CERO certification would require changes to the game’s content that the study said would not reflect the experience players expect. Japanese players who pre-order the game will receive a refund.
The Callisto protocol went gold last week, which means the game will be out on December 2nd. The next horror game will feature brutal gameplay and other great features such as a performance mode that offers a constant frame rate of 60fps.
The Callisto protocol is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
