Greed was stopped right on the border between Ahtopol and Sinemorets. This is what political scientist Evgeny Dainov told Radio “Focus”.
“This roller of greed, which started from the north and reached Ahtopol, was stopped in Sinemorets. In Sinemorets, 10 years ago, they stopped the roller of concreting and the clogging of the ravines and the waters draining away. The drama is down on the beaches, where the water column that it comes from the mountains, meets the sea, and most of the buildings were taken there. This tragedy does not exist here precisely because greed was stopped right on the border between Ahtopol and Sinemorets,” he added.
“In the Southern Black Sea coast, we have a purely feudal-bandit model of government – there are feudal lords, who are sometimes mayors, sometimes they are mayors plus the local bandit, who hold power over the entire population, promising this population that he will include them in the general robbery. And the population loves and tolerates them”, the political scientist expressed his opinion and explained that despite the current tragedies with flooded buildings and even deaths, people continue to love their feudal lords precisely because they believe that sooner or later they will be included in the great theft.
“This is the risk of feudalism – it corrupts everyone downwards, everyone wants to become bandits in this model. And the feudal model in Bulgaria at the moment, since it is devoid of the component “honor”, as it was in the Middle Ages, is purely predatory. And here people who come from more civilized places, more civil-minded, who end up saving the locals themselves from their own greed and stupidity are already stepping in. The state must intervene here imperatively,” the political scientist pointed out.
According to Yevgeny Dainov, if the laws had been followed, there would not have been such floods: “Stranja is being cut, therefore huge floods are starting, all the ravines are filled from below, all the creeks and streams are blocked, and this flood has nowhere to go. And the flood that comes down from Strandzha, and the flood that sweeps away our settlements are the result of non-compliance with the laws. What is on the sea is pure populism – what the population wants, it is done, and up, to disobey the laws, they fly the bribes”.
“The only way to vote for normal mayors and maintain normal law and order is for more and more people from the civilized cities to move here. When the people who came from the civilized part of the country where there is urban civilization outnumber the natives, then here there will be an opportunity to establish legal order and stop that stealing that leads to human casualties,” political scientist Evgeni Dainov concluded.
