The current information shows that the suspected men sold drugs to the residents of Riga and had a wide range of clients. The police continue to explain the role of each person and the exact circumstances of the incident. Three out of four men have already been punished for drug use.
In connection with the incident, criminal proceedings have been initiated according to the third part of Article 253.1 of the Criminal Law – for the unauthorized purchase, storage, transportation or transfer of narcotic or psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale or for the unauthorized sale of narcotic or psychotropic substances, if it was done by an organized group or if it was done with narcotic or psychotropic substances substances in large quantities.
For the aforementioned crime, the law provides for deprivation of liberty for a period of five to 15 years, with or without confiscation of property, and with probation supervision for a period of up to three years.
Police continue to explain the circumstances of the incident, including the role of each person. The man born in 1976 has been given a security measure – detention.
The State Police reminds that no person is considered guilty until his guilt in committing a criminal offense is proven in accordance with the law.
