The desktop Radeon RX 7600 / 7700 won’t arrive until June

Core Navi 33 vs. (in desktop available) Navi 31 and (not yet released) Navi 32. They differ in two ways. On the one hand, it is a monolithic solution, and on the other hand, it is created on a 6nm process, unlike the two faster ones, whose 3D core is produced using 5nm technology. The problem he encountered Navi 31 (in graphics load, consumption rises and stability decreases with clock frequencies significantly faster than planned and than in computing load, which leads to lower performance and lower energy efficiency), equally applies Navi 33. Due to the use of the 6nm process (which of course has higher energy requirements than 5nm), of course the effects are more pronounced, so AMD practically did not increase the clock frequency for its mobile variant compared to the 7nm GPU Navi 23 (Radeony RX 66xx).

Therefore, no miracles can be expected from the desktop versions, which, on the other hand, gives hope to users who are looking for an affordable solution. However, according to the MyDrivers website, the desktop edition Navi 33 (Radeons RX 7600 / 7700) cannot be expected before the 618 event (a Chinese shopping festival founded by JD.com in 2010, which refers to the company’s founding date of 6/18/1998). A mid-June release would likely be followed by an announcement at Computex (May 30 – June 2, 2023).

The June release is related to the fact that current hardware sales are very low and AMD wants to wait for their release to increase, which can be expected with the 618 shopping festival (some analysts also expect some improvement in sales around the middle of the year).

However, it is questionable whether this is the real reason. After all, 4-5 months of low sales is still better from a financial point of view than 4-5 months of no sales, so I would venture to speculate that there may be some other reason behind the situation.

More powerful on the expected release Navi 32 / Radeon RX 7800s, which according to available information should happen in July, nothing changes for now.
